TADAS stands for Trauma – Anxiety – Depression and Stress.

This is the focus of my work.

Why highlight these?

The vast majority of people who come to see me are struggling with one or more of these, and their lives are affected in unpleasant ways because of it.

Anxiety and Depression are likely at an all-time high in our nation today.  Why?

Just take a look at our life styles.

We are bombarded morning, noon, and night with negative news of crisis.

Expectations are higher than ever before, while physical activity is at an all-time low.   We could go on and on about this, but we will leave it for now to stay on track . . . .

Stress has everything to do with it.  It leads to anxiety and depression.

So why trauma?  Trauma affects us in profound ways and can become “stuck” for long periods of time, even an lifetime if there is no intervention.

In future discussions, we can talk about why it happens, how it happens, and to whom it happens.

The point is that trauma – or the residual effects of experiencing trauma in any of its forms – affects many of us and we do not even know it.

Very often, trauma is at the root of anxiety and depression or causes us to experience undue stress, yet it is not often identified or treated.

The result?

People can gain some relief from their anxiety or depression with therapy or medication, but the core cause is still fully functioning.

Yes, there are times when it is advisable to treat the anxiety or depression directly at first to ease symptoms so that we can work on the core issues.  But by simply treating the anxiety or depression, the core is still there.

I will quote a highly regarded physician who came to the USA as a refugee because he put it so well in a trauma group:

In short, let me say this clearly –

  • Healing is very possible.
  • Anxiety and Depression do not have to rule our lives.
  • Trauma does not have to be a life sentence.

Let us explore how this may apply to you.
