Let’s start with the obvious question…
“What is it??”
Easy enough: It’s one person working with a therapist.
In other words, we’re here for YOU.
We’re here to help you develop a vision for your life and chart a path to get you there.
We’re here to walk with you on that path, guiding, encouraging, and redirecting.
And we’re here to offer you tools for improving your daily life.
Relationships are a big part of our lives.
So, many come to us with relationship issues: parent-child relationships, work relationships, romantic relationships… we see it all.
We’ll work with you to examine your relationships and how you might change the dynamics by changing your approach.
Therapy is about helping you – not changing the other person. You can’t control what others do. But you can make a concerted effort and effect positive change by understanding your role in the relationship and how it affects you,
It’s freeing and satisfying to do this work and see the results in your life.
“Can I bring somebody else with me?”
That would be known as couples or family therapy. That is a different skill set.
However, there are times when you and your therapist may decide that this would be beneficial for one therapy session when you have a clear view of what you want to accomplish. This is not common, though.
Individual therapy is about making a change in YOU, which in turn changes your situation.
But it only works when you invest in the process. Just sitting through a session won’t change anything; you have to do the work.
So… are you ready?
That you’re here reading this page lets us know you probably are.
